Midweek run

3 miles tonight. One slow one with my nephew, he pushed through and made a solid mile. Took Chief dog out for this lap too. He'll have no problem being a running buddy. It took him 1/4 mile to realize that this was not a pack sprint to bring down game or evade a bigger predator, then he settled down into a nice trot. After dropping off the boy and dog, the second lap was a faster 6:50 mile. Followed up with a pretty slow final mile. Sticky, but cooler tonight too.

Stats:
3 miles
88% HR for second mile, closer to race pace 6:50
1 tired nephew and one warmed up dog.

I have a feeling Chief Dog could bust out a sub 18 minute 5k. San you enter your pets? I'm in on the dam 10k. Let me know when to register if you decide.

Yeah, I think sub 18 would be no problem for him... lol. I put my gps in his dog backpack at the frisbee field one day just to get an idea how fast he was. I tossed a long one and he took off after it and caught it. That dog logged 35 mph and he did not look like he was going all out! I think he could run a 10 min 5k if food was at the end :)

I'll let you know about the 10k. I'm thinking I'll just run it slow just to say I ran one ;)
