Midweek Run

Went for a tempo run tonight to test things out for a possible run in the Ray Tanner 5k this weekend.  At this point it's still a no go for this weekend.  The dog and I did an 8:00 mile warmup (He's really liking the cooler weather and he's leading the way instead of being dragged).  I reset the watch and ran a 6:30 min/mile pace for 1.5 miles and then slowly jogged another half mile.  I felt some tightness in my right hip flexor which is probably related to my injury last week.  I still have a small amount of tightness in the quad when I stretch it.  I did not really try to push it since the ground was wet and I'm still working on recovery from the strained muscles 7 days ago.

No sense in paying money to race if I'm not 100%.  I'll just do speedwork that I can bail out on if things go south.  I'm worried the excitement of a real race could result in me pushing myself into a real injury.

Also.. note to self, don't eat Rush's food an hour and a half before a run.
