I rode a nasty Lost Creek fairly slow. The trail was so covered with leaves I kept loosing it. After an hour of trail riding, I left the forest and hit the paved trails and roads back to Lexington. It was a nice ride. Full finger gloves, long sleeve jersey and bib shorts.... I wish I had my knee warmers.

1/2 hike, 1/2 urban assault with Race Finish
20.25 miles today at 10 mph average after a hike in the woods with the family. The family left me at the Midlands parking lot at 2:15 or so. I knew there was a race today, but needed to get to Lost Creek. I road to ask the folks if the race was over at the bottom of the last climb. No one where there and I figured everyone was in, especially since it was so late. I climbed the hill standing and saw a guy off his bike about 100 yards up. I settled in behind him and passed when it opened up some. As I passed I saw he had a bib number and immediately thought... crap, this thing is not over and I'm about to roll up through the finish line! It was too late to turn back and there was no way to get to Lost Creek except the way I was riding. I just kept looking over my shoulder to make sure I was not in the way. I crossed the line to cameras and cheering. It was hilarious. I spotted Jim and waved, then dropped the hammer. Very funny, hope I did not mess anyone up.

LOL, good seeing ya dude. Still cant get over you rolling thru the finish lines. Heck, I was one too that when saw the rider coming started doing claps and hu'ra till I recognized ya and you took me by surprise. I was standing with Tom and chuckled out lout thats Jason there, 'what the ?? . That was pretty good and fit the ocassion fine. Think you rolled thru when the experts were on there final lap, you would of been rollin in somewhere in the 2nd half of experts and a few stragler after churchers -- Pretty darn good dude. Good seeing ya, I know Tom and I got a good laugh out of it.
