1/2 hike, 1/2 urban assault

Efficiency is a beautiful thing.  Today I loaded up the dogs and my bike for a trip to the woods.  The wife, dogs, and baby in her backpack made a 2 mile hike in the nice fall weather.  After the hike, I unloaded my gear and road 10 miles of trail and then back to the house.  The family headed right back after the hike.  I had 19.5 miles at 10.5 mph average.  Slow, but I felt like I could go on for a long time.  I had a pretty stiff headwind coming back.  I also have some rear break issues.  That bad boy was dragging pretty bad, which may be part of my slower speed.  I stopped before hitting the roads and paths back to the house and discovered that it was fully touching on one side.  I had been noticing that it was squealing anytime I went faster than 12 or 13.  It was a nice ride, great weather other than the wind.  I figure I saved about 1 hour by not driving over twice, not to mention the gas.

Stats:

19.5 miles
10.5 mph average
No power, plenty of slow endurance.
