Early Morning Harbison Ride

7:30 AM start at Harbison tomorrow. I've made some adjustments to my suspension which I hope will help the ride and speed.

I plan on switching things up from the normal ride:

Firebreak> Crooked Pine> Spider Woman with Inner Woman clockwise> Stewardship counter clockwise> Spider Woman with Inner Woman clockwise> Midlands Mtn> Firebreak

Any takers?

Update:

Was late and missed Jim. Hooked up with Toby, but he had tire issues about half a mile in. Had a good cruise ride. Saw a huge turtle on Stewardship and lots of bunnies. I stopped for a 4 or 5 foot long black snake on spider woman on the ridge switchback. .25 miles later I actually RAN OVER a fairly large cottonmouth. [or the stockest water snake I've ever seen. This one's head looked small for a viper, but it was wider than a water snakes.] All I could do was yell obscenities and wildly try to unclip/pull up my legs. He struck at me, but I ended up on the winning end of the confrontation. I've bunny hopped a snake before, but never flat out just ran one over. Sorry pal. Did inner woman without the granny and made it up the rock garden faster than ever.

19 or 20 miles, I accidently reset my computer instead of just avg speed after going back for Toby
9 mph average
Forgot the HR transmitter too.

The idea of starting early sounds wise, if I can get myself up I'll be there. Heck we might be able to get an hour before we start pouring sweat. Its gonna be a 100oz camelback day :)

We must of just missed eachother, I thought it was around 7:45 when I headed off, thought I might of missed another posting or somthing postponing the ride or something. Sounds like you had your hands full with them snakes, talk about getting some motivation to get moving. Thank goodness it wasnt on the rock garden, can only imagine tyring to get unclipped and having to play footsy over them rocks, if the snake doesnt get ya a slam into those would.

I may have to break the ol' camelbak back out this summer. Two bottles is only good for 20 miles. Adding the 72oz bladder to the mix could mean 30 to 40 miles days.
