Bike to Nature Ride

I had a tight schedule this morning so I decided to ride with the BTN crew instead of heading over t0 the forest.  These guys were especially slow today and I had to bail out to make it back to my house by 10:00 to baby sit.  We averaged 16.5 mph for about 19 miles... as a group "paceline".  I just hung out in the back, stayed quiet and let them do their thing.  When I heard someone call out for a longer route, I knew that at that pace they would not get back until 11:00.  I hit HWY 1 and road about 17 miles back home alone averaging over 20 mph included riding in traffic light country in town.  I was just cruising, not even working hard.  AND I'm still slightly sick.  I like the slow pace through the country sometimes, but today I had to be somewhere.  Maybe next weekend I'll have time for a longer ride with the BTN folk, then again... that's the morning after the 4th and I might be safer on the trail.

Stats:
36 miles
16.5 avg with the group/ 20+ mph avg solo

Also, I my wore Harrell's jersey and did not crash.  Maybe it's just a dirt thing :)
