Since Monty was busy with his fatherhood project this weekend and could not go to FATS, he wished us luck and asked us to make sure we had at least one good crash for him. Half way into Brown Wave, I was able to fulfill his request with a half doubled double. I had warned Tim not long before that you had to watch the upcoming section, but FATS has a way of sucking you in with it's speed and carve-able trails. I went down in spectacular fashion at around 17 or 18 mph. Did a nice half hearted jump > endo > front washout > slide along the ground on my right side for 5 yards. I have trail rash on my forearm, knee, cut on my shoulder, and a bruised hip. I got up laughing and loudly announced to the trees that "that one was for Monty". It was a fun ride despite the bouncing off the dirt part. I guess I was due.

Here she is post clean up.
Tim put in his longest ride ever at 20 miles. We rode everything except Deep Step. I'll have to get down there and ride it hard to see what I can get my average up. This ride was about endurance and showing Tim FATS. I think we both had a great time, hope to do it again this summer.
Stats:
Just under 10 mph average
20 miles
1800 cal
150 HR average

Thanks for the Tour!
Did my wound idea work??
Ouch, thats gotta hurt. That Brown Wave gets you feeling like your definately riding the waves and could suck you under in a flash. Looks like you made up for a couple of crashes for Monty on this one and after you get your heal time we should definately try to do this one again, next time hopefully I could join ya'll.
It looks worse than it hurts :) We'll have to get a group ride planned for FATS for sure.
It's the least you could do for Monty.
