Harrell's Ride Collision

Joe, Monty, and I left the parking lot and headed to Lost Creek.  I pushed hard and kept them in sight for a while, but the lack of a warm up got to me and they walked away.  I was holding 11, they were holding 12.  I was redlining with an average 185 while over braking and steering watching them cruise ahead.  We hooked up with Jim after lost creek and made our way to outer loop.  We decided to run spider woman backwards.  I had the misfortune of having a head on collision with a rider that had 40 or 50 lbs on me in a blind curve on spider woman.  I took a shot to the jaw and head.  It rang my bell pretty well and I had to slow down a bit to make sure I was really OK.  I road out of spider woman with a bad headache and sore jaw and neck.  Who says cycling is not a contact sport.  At least in football you know it's coming.  Monty and Joe were doing the outer loop, but I took the short way back to the jeep in that I felt like a had a slight concussion.

In that I had to slow down so much in spider woman my average was lower than it could have been.  It's frustrating... it seems the harder I go the less speed I get for my efforts past a point.

Stats:

16.5 miles
10.5 mph (I'm so slow...)
173 average HR

Dude, I was gonna comment your earlier entry to be careful, since I wouldn't be behind you to pick up the pieces.

Hope your OK!

PS: I bought a bell for Bobby's Bike, but I think he won't mind if you borrow it for awhile.

man, of all trails and reverse too, you couldnt have a rougher climb out after your full contact incident, hope you feel better today. Knock on wood, havent had a head on yet.
I wouldnt go and move me around your list quite yet, were both in the same class after all we just have our good days and bad days and yesterday I had the short easy route and drop sounds a little strong, heck, I need a dropped list myself to add them two, there tough and I cant hold a candle to um.
