Took an easy ride out to Chapin on Hwy 76 early this morning with the idea that if I felt like it, I'd turn the ride into 80 miles. It was nice out and I kept my heart rate and speed in check, but it was a little windy. After going into a 10 or 12 mph head wind for an hour I made it to the town of Chapin. Traffic was fairly light. On the way back I was still considering my option of tacking on my usual Lexington route. By the time I came into my neighborhood to refuel, I'd decided that 38.5 miles was long enough for a solo ride since I had so many projects going on. I had plenty in the tank and felt like making an 80 mile ride would have been pretty easy at that slow pace. 40 to 50 miles is my breaking point on solo rides... I guess I bore easily.
Stats:
38.5 miles
150 HR avg
17.5 mph

Do you really count the .5 mile. Why not round +/- a mile?
