Monty and I left the parking lot and rode Lost Creek. We rode a 10 mph pace, was not really attempting to push things and was hopping that I'd start feeling better once warmed up. We finished up and swung back to the front lot around 6:25 and found no familiar faces. After a few minutes, we decided to ride Crooked pine down to Spider Woman. "Not feeling it" and Spider Woman make for a slow pace. Monty was kind enough to wait for me every so often to make sure I had not been taken down by bears or wolves. I had hoped for a two hour endurance ride, but at 1:20 I just felt like heading back to the jeep. We took Firebreak counter clockwise to the long climb and back.
It was a disappointing ride. I never really physically pushed myself and mentally beat myself down. I know I can't hang with Monty, I don't even try anymore unless we're on the road. I try to learn from his lines in the woods, but nearly crash half the time because I'm not paying attention enough to what I'm doing. The grin factor was even lower than normal on the down hill tonight. After a while, I was just going through the motions.
Meet up with some more riders after the ride, we missed hooking up by just 5 minutes or so. Maybe next week we'll get our act together. Thinking of giving that Tuesday night Crit a try in the next month. Sounds fun.
Stats:
1:36 ride time
16 miles
10 mph average
159 average
(which has 10 minutes of 70 to 80 from the post ride chat since I spaced on stopping the HR monitor, I'd guess I had a 165 average for the ride)
