4-30-08 Harrell's Ride

Good ride tonight with a big group. I was annoyed all evening with a shot headset that had me worried on the 25+ mph downhill sections. It held together, but needed to be tightened along the way after half an hour of riding. The Cake goes to the shop tomorrow for a headset and tune up. Good news is my creak was gone. Turned out to be trash under the seat tube binder. Tim took his new bike on her maiden voyage tonight too, very cool. Did Lost Creek first. Jim and I got separated from the main group and took the gravel road way around to the drop in on the downhill section of Stewardship where we were told to meet up. The other's took a short cut and hit spider woman. Jim and I did the big loop back around to the Midlands climb and back to the parking lot. Fun ride that was a little slower than normal. It'll be more fun when my fork and headset stop clunking.

Stats:
10.14 mph average
17:75 Miles
159 Average
1:45 Ride Time

Those guys do an easy cruise near my race pace man. They hold around 11.5 on Lost Creek and the outer loop with Spider Woman. Normally I am doing good to keep them in sight, last night I was riding in the middle of the group for most of Lost Creek before I stopped to make an adjustment.

Speed will come with more riding (that's what I keep telling myself anyway :)
