January summary and less blogging planned

Less blogging is in order for 2009. I plan on summarizing more and using this thing less as a training log. January was a slow month. I ran 15 miles, rode the trainer a little, and hiked many times with the family. I hurt my knee right before Christmas while punting the football 100 to 150 times to my nephew. My knee has been about 90% since then. It seems to be classic overuse tendinitis. I can run on it with little issues, but cranking pedals under a load aggravates it. I'm trying to ice it, heat it, and stretch it to rehab it back to 100% so spring will be fun.

I've also stopped "training" and just started running for fun and biking for fun. I miss the days of just hitting harbison and not constantly looking down for my average speed or HR zone. I don't run with my watch on anymore. I'm not an athlete. I'm just trying to stay in shape.

Finally, my little girl and I went for a spin with her new jogging stroller this weekend. That thing will make a man out of me for sure. The first 3/4 mile long hill pushing 40 lbs to it's peak nearly maxed my HR. It's fun and it will get the youngin out of her momma's hair for an hour or so.

15 or 20 days from now and I'll be thinking about commuting again :)

Way to reflect and enjoy. The family life will likely also benifit. Ive heard comments from other parents doing that stoller jog and hear that one will wip you in to shape like nothin else.
